Mohamad Ashiek Salleh and Junalis Lumat kill two taxi drivers in Yishun

In 1992, Mohamad Ashiek Salleh and Junalis Lumat stabbed two taxi drivers to death in separate incidents in Yishun. The murders, carried out over several months, prompted a major police operation. Both men were identified, arrested, and charged with murder. They were convicted and sentenced to death. Mohamad Ashiek Salleh and Junalis Lumat were hanged at Changi Prison on 16 June 1995. The case is one of the most serious violent crime episodes in the estate's history.
